Natural Remedies For Diabetic Macular Edema

Can you reverse diabetic macular edema? In its early stages, macular edema is reversible, but persistent edema may result in irreparable retinal abnormalities.

Is diabetic macular edema reversible? There is no treatment for diabetic macular edema, but some drugs and surgical techniques may reverse or delay the damage caused by this dangerous eye condition.

How long does macular edema take to resolve? A month to four months may be required for the macular edema to resolve.

A friend of mine told me about a supplement and claimed that it helped him lower his fasting blood sugar count by 8 points and that his energy level was up also. I figured what the hell, I’d try it. I didn’t really see much in results at first but after about 3 weeks my fasting sugar count started to inch down and my energy levels were starting to rise. Now after 2 months of steady use my fasting sugar count is down a solid 12 points. My diet is a little better than my friends so I figure that might be the difference between his results and mine. I now have ordered a bottle of Liver Cleanse to add to the mix. I’ll post more when I’ve used it for a couple of months.

Lutein may assist with macular edema.
It has been observed that lutein and zeaxanthin supplementation improves visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and macular edema in non-proliferative DR patients [7]. The accumulation of the carotenoids lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin in the central retina is known as macular pigment.

Can fluid behind the retina be eliminated?

The accumulation of fluid might result in a partial retinal detachment. Occasionally, the illness, often referred to as central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), resolves spontaneously without therapy.

Can you reverse macular edema?

An ophthalmologist who specializes in retinal illnesses can reverse macular edema via therapy. Macular edema is another word for swelling of the central retina, which may be caused by macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein blockage, and cataract surgery.

How long does macular edema take to resolve?

A month to four months may be required for the macular edema to resolve.

Is macular edema reversible?

In its early stages, macular edema is reversible, but persistent edema may result in irreparable retinal abnormalities.

How does one eliminate macular edema?

The major treatment for macular edema brought on by inflammatory eye illnesses is corticosteroid (steroid) therapy, which reduces inflammation. Typically, these anti-inflammatory medications are provided as eye drops, tablets, or sustained-release corticosteroid injections into or around the eye.

Are diabetic macular edema and diabetic retinopathy the same?

Are diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema the same? DME and diabetic retinopathy are not the same condition. The diabetic consequence diabetic retinopathy may result in visual loss. It may potentially lead to other issues, such as DME.

How threatening is macular edema?

Occasionally, microaneurysms emerge from the vessel walls, releasing fluid and blood into the retina. This fluid may lead to edema (swelling) in the central portion of the retina (macula). This hazardous eye condition, known as diabetic macular edema, may result in impaired vision or blindness.

If macular edema is not treated, what will occur?

Chronic macular edema may cause irreparable macula damage and eventual vision loss if left untreated. Macular edema is often caused by excessive leaking from injured retinal blood vessels or abnormal development of deep retinal blood vessels.

Who should not supplement with lutein?

Do not exceed 20 mg per day of lutein supplementation. Women who are pregnant or nursing, as well as children, should not use lutein supplements. Keep any dietary supplements, vitamins, and other medications out of the reach of children and animals. Use only herbal and supplement items that are USP-Verified.

What side effects does lutein have?

Supplements containing lutein and zeaxanthin tend to have relatively few adverse effects. Over the course of five years, no detrimental effects of lutein and zeaxanthin supplements were observed in a large-scale ocular research. The only adverse impact discovered was minor skin yellowing, which was deemed harmless ( 32 ).

When should you take lutein?

What drugs may induce macular edema?

Conclusions: Macular edema may be caused by both new and ancient medicines, such as chloroquine, tamoxifen, vemurafenib, and interferon. DIME may be chronic and steroid-dependent despite the removal of inducing drugs.

All I know is after taking this product for 6 months my A1C dropped from 6.8 (that I struggled to get that low) to 5.7 without a struggle. By that I mean I watched my diet but also had a few ooops days with an occasional cheat and shocked my Dr with my A1C test. Since then I have also had finger checks that average out to 117-120. I’m still careful but also thankful my numbers are so good!
